Program Development Specialist
Sarah (she/her/hers) is an occupational therapist with extensive clinical experience working with individuals experiencing sensory processing differences. Sarah began her career in the United Kingdom working with children, adolescents and adults with sensory processing challenges across home, school and clinic-based settings. In 2003 Sarah was awarded the Elizabeth Casson Trust Scholarship from Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK, to attend Tufts University to complete her post-professional masters. Her thesis focused on therapists' clinical reasoning. Sarah has broad experience evaluating and treating individuals with SPD and has specialized training in Ayres Sensory Integration®, listening therapies, including Integrated Listening, Therapeutic Listening, Safe and Sound Protocol, feeding therapies and DIR® Floortime Approach. Sarah has a particular interest in working with and supporting the families of neurodiverse individuals. Sarah is also passionate in supporting individuals and families that have experienced trauma and has collaborated with several colleagues to support the development of the role of OT in mental health and specifically the intersection of sensory processing, trauma and attachment. In her role as Program Development Specialist Sarah supports the development of new programs and clinical initiatives within OTA The Koomar Center and Cicero Therapies. Sarah also regularly shares her knowledge and experiences through mentoring and presentations to educational facilities and other professionals broadening understanding of sensory processing and sensory integration therapy. In addition to her role at OTA and Cicero, Sarah is the president of the board of the SPIRAL Foundation - Sensory Processing Institute of Research and Learning is a nonprofit organization founded in 2001 by Dr. Jane Koomar and Anne Trecker whose mission is to conduct research and provide professional and community education about sensory integration and sensory processing.
Executive Director
Michael is the Executive Director at OTA Koomar Center and is responsible for overseeing all center operations. Michael started his career as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist at an inpatient Children’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Michael then moved into management operating two outpatient pediatric clinics specializing in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. It was during this time he developed a passion for providing strong leadership to develop and sustain successful clinical teams and operations. In the past 20 years, Michael’s background took on various leadership positions in the healthcare market as a Rehabilitation Director, Regional Director of Operations, and Executive Director of Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facilities. Originally from Massachusetts, he received his B.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of New England. Outside of OTA, Michael coaches his two daughters, Riley and Teagan, in Softball, Soccer, and Basketball. He has a passion for the outdoors, traveling, and sports.
Clinical Director
Kasey is a registered and licensed occupational therapist in the state of Massachusetts. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational science and her Master of Science degree in occupational therapy at the University of New Hampshire. Following graduation, she moved to London and has years of pediatric experience in a variety of settings including schools, clinics, and community in the London area. She has a special interest in how sensory processing skills impact daily behavior and obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Sensory Integration through the University of Ulster in the U.K. Kasey is committed to building strong relationships with children and their families and improving their quality of life. Outside of OTA Kasey enjoys traveling, reading, skiing, and hiking.
Assistant Clinical Director
Nikki is a registered and licensed occupational therapist who has a passion for recognizing unique strengths in each of her clients and facilitating opportunities for growth. Nikki specializes in sensory integration, feeding and mealtime skills, trauma and attachment, craniosacral therapy, as well as toileting. She is highly invested in neurodiversity affirming practices and providing comprehensive parent education/coaching. Nikki is a strong believer in using a strengths-based model to support the development of self-confidence and self-advocacy skills within her clients. She is also committed to fostering strong and trusting relationships with her clients and families to promote their overall health, independence, and wellbeing. Nikki is skilled in working with clients across the lifespan from early infancy through adulthood and has a background in mental health, clinic, and school-based settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University and Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Bay Path University.
Assistant Clinical Director
Olivia is a licensed and certified occupational therapist. She earned her Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Tufts University where she also earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in child development. Olivia has experience working with children and youth with varying abilities in a variety of settings including public and private schools, clinical, therapeutic, and home environments. She is the oral motor coordinator at OTA and research coordinator for the SPIRAL Foundation. Olivia is experienced in providing sensory integration therapy and has training in Program of Essential Competencies of Sensory Integration (PECSI), Therapeutic Listening, FOCUS Program for Eating and Mealtime Success, and trauma-informed therapy. She is passionate about working with children and their families to foster meaningful participation in their daily lives.
Diana is a registered and licensed occupational therapist. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy at Boston University’s Sargent College. She has a diverse background working with children in school-based settings, adolescents in community employment programs, and children/adults in inpatient hospitals. Her experience also includes working with young people who have deaf blindness and CHARGE syndrome. She has an interest in using yoga, Reiki, and other holistic practices as part of treatment. She is Level I Reiki Certified and speaks Spanish fluently.

Leorah is a licensed and certified occupational therapist. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in occupational therapy from Boston University. Since graduating, Leorah has worked in early intervention, providing home-based services aimed at supporting families with babies and toddlers with a variety of delays and diagnoses. She is a Certified Early Intervention Specialist in MA and has a special interest in helping parents to better understand their child's needs and providing individualized treatments using a strengths-based approach. In her spare time, Leorah enjoys hiking, yoga, going to the beach, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Inbal is a registered and licensed occupational therapist. She completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master’s in Occupational Therapy degrees at Quinnipiac University. Inbal has experience working with children and adolescents in school and clinic-based settings and with adults within the hospital, home, and community settings. Inbal is trained in and values using a trauma-informed care approach and neurodiversity-affirming strengths-based approach to support the needs of the individuals she works with. Inbal is passionate about sharing the powerful impact sensory-based treatment has in supporting physical and emotional health. She enjoys engaging in her own sensory-based activities in her leisure time including practicing yoga and meditation, spending time in nature, dancing, and singing. She interweaves these into therapy when appropriate. Inbal is a Level 1 Reiki Certified practitioner and a 200hr trained yoga teacher.

Jen is a registered and licensed occupational therapist. She earned her Master of Science Degree in occupational therapy from Washington University in St. Louis. Jen has extensive experience evaluating and treating infants, children, teens, families and adults within the home, school, clinic, and camp settings. She currently serves as a staff occupational therapist, mentor, and specialty coordinator in the area of auditory interventions. She has completed the Sensory Integration Certification Program (SIPT) and is a certified provider of therapeutic listening as well as integrated listening systems. Additionally, Jen has training in DIR/Floortime, manual therapies, kinesiotaping, trauma-informed practice, and visual-vestibular treatment techniques. Jen is passionate about play as well as her relationships with her clients and their families. Outside of OTA, Jen enjoys kayaking, hiking, backcountry camping, and silent retreats.

Erin is a certified and licensed occupational therapist in the state of Massachusetts and registered with NBCOT with a specialty in pediatrics. She received her master's in occupational therapy from Sacred Heart University where she was a member of the Pi Theta Epsilon honor society. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from College of the Holy Cross. She has worked with children in a variety of settings including public/private schools and Boys & Girls Clubs and has run community-based parent/child sensory motor groups. She is certified in the Program of Essential Competencies in Sensory Integration. She is also trained in the SOS oral motor program, iLs: Integrated Listening Systems home programming, and trauma informed care. She completed the Infant Parent Mental Health Fellowship program at UMass Boston in 2019. She is on the IRB board of The Spiral Foundation and serves as the Spiral Foundations Education Coordinator. Being a parent herself, Erin is passionate about working with children and their parents to build positive relationships and understanding. In her free time, Erin enjoys spending time traveling on cycling vacations with her husband and visiting with her children and grandchildren.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Vanguard University of Southern California as a student-athlete and continued her education by earning a master’s in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, TX. Kaitlyn has experience working with both children and adults within a variety of environments, including hospital and school settings. Kaitlyn prioritizes identifying what is motivating and meaningful to clients. She is passionate about learning each individual’s unique strengths and creativity to facilitate meaningful engagement and promote successful participation in daily life. Kaitlyn is committed to building positive relationships with clients, as well as family members, to foster joyful interactions inside and outside of OTA. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outside, going to the beach, skiing, and rooting for the Red Sox at Fenway!

Her clinical experience includes working with children at an elementary school setting and working with adults at a skilled nursing facility. Kelsey is passionate about working with children and their families in a holistic and meaningful approach. She enjoys hiking, reading, and skiing in her free time.

Grace is a registered and certified occupational therapist. She graduated cum laude from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Rehabilitation Human Services. She went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia where she worked in Dr. Roseann Schaaf’s sensory integration research lab. Grace has specialized training and certification in sensory integration practice/evaulation (EASI) from the Collaborative Leadership in Ayres Sensory Integration (CLASI) as well as certification in Integrated Listening Systems. She has previous experience working in a sensory integration outpatient clinic in Dallas, TX helping children, adolescents, and families learn about and advocate for their unique sensory experiences. Grace values neurodiversity affirming and intrinsically motivating care to best drive development. In her free time, she enjoys training for marathons, backpacking, and cheering on her Philadelphia sports teams.

She completed her Master of Science in occupational therapy at the University of New Hampshire, where she also received her Bachelor of Science. Paige has clinical experience working with adults in the inpatient setting and children in the outpatient setting. Prior to graduating, she worked with children in a variety of settings, including early education and summer camps. She prioritizes a holistic person-centered approach to therapy and strives to make treatment both fun and functional. In her spare time, Paige enjoys walking on the beach, listening to podcasts, and trying new restaurants.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in occupational science and Master of Science degree in occupational therapy at Ithaca College, graduating Cum Laude and as a member of the Pi Theta Epsilon honor society. He has experience in pediatric outpatient and school-based settings, working with a diverse population of children. He is passionate about the positive impact play can make on a child’s development and takes a strengths-based approach to each individual child and their family. In his free time, Jake enjoys biking, cooking, history podcasts, and rooting for the Boston Celtics.

Vivian is a registered and licensed occupational therapist in the state of Massachusetts. She earned her doctorate in occupational therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston and holds bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and biology from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. Vivian has experience working with infants and toddlers in early childhood education, elementary age children in both public school and collaborative based practice, adolescents in residential care settings, and adaptive sports. Vivian is passionate about empowering children learning through play. Vivian is also the Youth Lead for the Eastern Massachusetts Adaptive Climbing Group, where she holds adaptive climbing sessions as well as promotes accessibility and inclusivity in the sport of indoor and outdoor rock climbing. In her free time, Vivian enjoys reading, exploring new cities, skiing, rock climbing, yoga, and hanging out with her Catahoula Hound mix, Brigham.

She received her Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Regis College and she also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Connecticut. Anna has experience working with children of all ages and abilities in home, clinic, and school settings. Anna is committed to providing client-centered therapy through playful and meaningful activities to promote success in all areas of life.
Katie is a licensed and certified occupational therapist. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy (OT) from Cleveland State University. She completed her post professional master’s in OT at Tufts University where she also received a Certificate of Advanced Studies. Katie has completed the Sensory Integration Assessment and Intervention certification. Katie is a senior therapist at OTA and is a mentor to the staff. She leads the OT treatment intensives for international children. She is certified in Interactive Metronome, Therapeutic Listening, The Listening Program, and Visual Vestibular Integration. She has pediatric experience in clinic, home, and school-based services. Her special interests include techniques that focus on floor-time, brain gym, NeuroNet, and social skills techniques. She also has experience coaching families in floor-time techniques and organizing play groups for social interaction.

Jennie Schofield is a registered and licensed occupational therapist in the state of Massachusetts. She earned her Master of Science in occupational therapy from Tufts University and her Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University, where she majored in fine arts and minored in psychology. She holds a teaching certificate from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and is licensed in visual arts education for pre-K through 12th grade. Jennie is an intake coordinator at OTA. She has previously served as the test and protocols coordinator and a member of the beauty and order team, helping to maintain the safety and order of the clinic. She has completed the Spiral Foundation’s Program of Essential Competencies in Sensory Integration, allowing her to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT). Jennie has experience working with children and adults with a broad range of diagnoses and abilities. She believes deeply in the power of building trusting, collaborative relationships with her clients and their families as the foundation for therapeutic gains and has a playful and empathetic approach. She strives to empower her clients and tailors therapy to meet their individual needs so they can participate more fully in their daily lives. She has a special interest in child-parent relationships, mental health, and trauma and attachment related challenges.

In her practice, she seeks to build self-efficacy in all clients and their families through utilizing a holistic strengths-based approach. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, throwing pottery, and cooking.
Hannah is a licensed and certified occupational therapist in the state of Massachusetts. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ithaca College and greatly enjoyed the five years she spent exploring the gorges, waterfalls, and shorelines of the Fingerlakes region. Hannah has experience working with a diverse population of children and adolescents across clinical, educational, and community-based settings. She is passionate about creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities to reap the benefits of joyful movement and a deepened mind-body connection. Her clinical practice is underpinned by a commitment to supporting the strengths of the children and families she serves and by continued development as a neurodiversity-affirming practitioner. Anne Trecker is a certified and licensed occupational therapist. She received a master’s degree in occupational therapy from Boston University, and previously received an MFA in dance from the University of Illinois. Most recently Anne was an occupational therapist and sensory integration specialist with the Boston Public Schools. Prior to that position, she was a therapist, and then the clinical director of Occupational Therapy Associates-Watertown. In these positions she worked with children with a wide range of disabilities, with special emphasis on children with autism. She has lectured on sensory integration theory and intervention throughout the U.S. and presents frequently for parent and teacher groups in the Boston area. In addition, she was the founding executive director of The Spiral Foundation at OTA-Watertown.

She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies and a concentration in early childhood development and education. Before attending graduate school, Erica spent 4 years teaching infants, toddlers, and preschoolers where she discovered her passion for incorporating sensory strategies into the daily classroom activities to promote learning. She also has training in DIR/Floortime and experience in early intervention. She is passionate about collaborating with families to achieve optimal outcomes for her clients. Erica values the sensory experiences offered in nature and enjoys running, hiking, and traveling.

Shannon Zickler is a licensed and certified occupational therapist. She received her bachelor’s and Master of Science degrees in occupational therapy from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Through the settings of an outpatient SI clinic, early intervention, and preschool and school-based therapy, she has worked with adults, infants and children with developmental disabilities or delays, autism spectrum disorders, feeding difficulties, trauma and attachment difficulties and sensory processing disorders. She has completed the Comprehensive Program in Sensory Integration (SIPT). A special area of interest for her is the relationship between sensory processing disorders and trauma and attachment related difficulties; she enjoys collaborating with psychologists and other team members to implement the SAFE PLACE model and tailoring her treatment appropriately to create the best progress and outcome for her clients.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. Krysten has experience working with children of all ages and abilities across clinical, in-home, and virtual settings and additional training in DIR/Floortime. Krysten is committed to providing strength-based and client-centered care. Through engaging and meaningful interactions with all clients, Krysten aspires to cultivate participation and engagement in their daily lives. In her free time, Krysten enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outside, dancing, cooking, reading, and golfing.

Lauren has experience working with children and adults across a variety of settings including school-based services with a focus on emotional and neurological differences, community-based services in a residential program for men with substance use disorder and in-patient rehabilitation. Prior to graduate school, she worked at a non-profit organization focused on innovative cancer research, as well in various entities within film and television. Lauren enjoys learning about what is most important to her clients and identifying what motivates them. She is passionate about providing family-centered, neurodiversity affirming care while incorporating the value of play in learning. In her free time, Lauren enjoys exploring new places, reading, Pilates and spending time with her dogs.

Alana is a registered and licensed occupational therapist. She received her Masters of Science in occupational therapy from the University of New Hampshire, where she also received her undergraduate degree in occupational science with a minor in human development and family studies. Alana’s clinical experience includes working with elementary-aged children in schools and home-based therapy settings in addition to working with adults in rehabilitation and inpatient mental health. She also has experience in community exploration and life skills for adolescents and adults. Alana prioritizes building positive relationships with clients and their families to create a comfortable environment for the client to demonstrate their strengths and abilities. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, trying new restaurants and making sourdough bread!

She received a degree of Masters of Science in occupational therapy from the University of New Hampshire where she also received her undergraduate degree in occupational science. Allie has clinical experience working with various populations in primarily outpatient settings including a reflex integration clinic for adults and children. She also has experience working with the older adult population in community environments and previously maintained a role as an assistant Pre-K teacher at a local daycare. Allie strives to promote therapeutic relationships with families to foster independence and growth while also building off of their strengths. In her free time, Allie enjoys doing yoga, going on hikes, attending concerts, and spending time with friends & family.

Karli is originally from Wisconsin and moved to the East Coast when she began college. She attended Yale University for her bachelor's degree and studied psychology. She later attended Boston University and earned her master's in speech-language pathology. Her clinical experience includes fluency, preschool speech and language, and adult language and voice. Karli is passionate about providing individualized, engaging, and evidence-based care for all of her clients and their families.

She is passionate about utilizing a child's strengths to address their individual communication needs through play-based and client-led therapy.

Emily is the lead speech-language pathologist at OTA. Emily received her certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice speech-language pathology within the state of Massachusetts. Emily strives to create a fun play-based environment for her clients to build upon their strengths and communicate effectively in their everyday lives. She has a DIRFloortime ® Basic Certificate and is certified in Story Grammar Marker® and the Hanen© Programs: It Takes Two to Talk, More than Words®, and TalkAbility. She has experience working with children and adolescents in school-based, clinic-based, and early intervention settings. Originally from New York, she received her Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology from Ithaca College and her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY.

Chanlynn is a bilingual Mandarin-English speaking clinician. She was born in the USA but grew up in Shanghai, China. She moved back to the USA to attend Boston College, where she majored in Applied Psychology and Human Development and minored in Linguistics and Sociology. She completed her Master's program in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Chanlynn has clinical experience with pediatric clients, adolescents, and adults. She centers cultural humility in her practice, and believes that her role as an SLP is to be a listener and an advocate.

Becky is a speech-language pathologist licensed to practice within the state of Massachusetts. She received her certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She earned her Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology from Emerson College and her Bachelor of Arts in speech, language, and hearing sciences from the University of Connecticut. Her clinical experience includes working with a range of clients from ages birth to adult with a variety of speech and language abilities in the therapeutic school, private practice, and outpatient settings. Becky provides therapy through a child-led, strengths-based, and neurodiverse-affirming lens. She believes that every client benefits from a holistic and collaborative approach. Working with clients and their families to generate individualized and functional goals is her top priority.

Ashley grew up in Chicago and then attended the University of South Carolina for her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She received her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Boston University. Ashley’s clinical experience includes working with children ages 1 to 18 across the domains of speech, language, and social pragmatics. She is very passionate about providing care that is individualized to the child and their family and wants to make speech therapy as enjoyable and beneficial for the child as possible.

Jordan is a speech-language pathologist who is licensed to practice within the states of Massachusetts & Colorado. She went to Edinboro College for her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders and earned her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Nazareth College. While she grew up in Buffalo, NY, Jordan has lived in Denver, CO and in the country of Belize, before moving to Boston a year ago.
Her clinical experiences have revolved around the pediatric population across various settings, including home health, private practice, and school levels. She is passionate about providing therapy that is neurodiversity affirming and follows a total communication approach that welcomes all forms of communication including AAC, sign language, verbal etc.
Outside of work, Jordan enjoys watching the Buffalo Bills, reading, listening to music, and relaxing outside at a park with friends.

Amy is a speech-language pathologist who received her certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice within the state of Massachusetts. She received her master's degree in speech-language pathology from Emerson College and her bachelor's degree in educational studies with a minor in American Sign Language from Roger Williams University. Amy's clinical experience includes working with children with a wide variety of speech and language abilities in both the school and private practice settings. She is passionate about meeting each client where they are and working with them to create an enjoyable and supportive environment to showcase their strengths and address their individual speech and communication needs.

Myrosha is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Art Therapist, passionate about self-expression and supporting transformation using a variety of evidence-based therapeutic styles. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana and received her Master of Arts degree from Lesley University in Counseling and Art Therapy. Her professional experience includes working with children, adolescents, and their caregivers in psychiatric hospital settings as well as in outpatient treatment. She has extensive training and expertise in working with children and families impacted by trauma and a variety of adversities. She has compassion for supporting issues related to attachment difficulties, developmental delays, autism, anxiety and post traumatic stress and uses play-based, expressive and strength-based strategies. Of particular clinical interest is the intersection between movement and the creative process, utilizing child-led play and expression to facilitate growth through a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. Myrosha also offers parent consultations and sessions to address strategies to support stress management, improved functioning and joy.

Danielle is a licensed independent clinical social worker and certified child life specialist with over 20 years of experience working with children, teens and families. She graduated from Wheelock College with a BS in Human Development, and from Salem State with a MSW. She specializes in supporting families through major life stressors and adversities including chronic illness and hospitalizations, grief & loss, trauma, and school adjustment. She believes in the inherent strength of families, the power of play, and the rights of all individuals to be successful in their environments as their authentic selves. She has personal and professional experience working with neurodiverse and LGBTQ populations.
